What to expect:-
We cover the following topics in line with the Key Stage 3 curriculum over the period while your child is in Year 8.
- Number – Multiplying and dividing fractions. Fractional increase / decrease. Percentages.
- Algebra – Substitution. Solving equations. Changing the subject.
- Geometry – Symmetry. Triangles and quadrilaterals. Angle facts. Angles in parallel lines. Interior and exterior angles. Converting metric units. Perimeter and area of 2D shapes. Circumference and area of circles.
- Statistics – Interpreting and drawing pie charts.
Your child will be given a piece of homework to complete each week. This will usually be consolidation of the learning from each lesson. Any homework they find difficult and not able to do on their own will then be re-addressed in the following lesson.
