What to expect:-

We consolidate and cover in depth the following topics in line with the National Curriculum over the period while your child is in Year 11.

  • Number – Limits of accuracy. Review GCSE content from Year 10.
  • Algebra – Functions. Inequalities including graphically. Transformation of graphs. Real-life graphs. Equation of a circle. Iteration. Area under a curve. Algebraic proof.
  • Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change – Review GCSE content from Year 10.
  • Geometry and Measures:  Transformations. Plans and elevations. Construction and loci. Vectors. Circle theorems. Compound measures.
  • Probability and Statistics – Review averages. Cumulative frequency. Histograms.
  • Revision and preparation for mock exams and GCSE exams in the summer.

(Detailed curriculum of the topics will be available at the tuition centre.) Your child will be given a piece of homework to complete each week. This will usually be consolidation of the learning from each lesson. Any homework they find difficult and not able to do on their own will then be re-addressed in the following lesson.

Once your child covers and is confident with all aspects of the curriculum, they will start practicing more challenging levels of work to ensure further development of each appropriate topic. This will include exam preparation techniques and questions.
