An additional \u00a35 per term will be added for resources and materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to expect:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We cover the following topics in line with the Key Stage 3 curriculum over the period while your child is in Year 9.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Number<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Review fractions, decimals and percentages. Index laws. Prime factorisation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Algebra<\/strong> \u00a0&#8211; \u00a0Inequalities. \u00a0Expanding double brackets. Factorising quadratics. Coordinates. Linear graphs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ratio and Proportion\u00a0 <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0 Simplifying ratios. Sharing a ratio \u2013 where one part is known.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Geometry <\/strong>\u2013 3D shapes. Surface area and volume of prisms. Pythagoras\u2019 theorem. Right-angled trigonometry.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Statistics\u00a0 <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0 Interpreting and drawing pie charts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your child will be given a piece of homework to complete each week. This will usually be consolidation of the learning from each lesson.
